Incident Report: Adil Naseem

Adil Naseem was 11 years old when he and 46 other children from Feltham Hill School went swimming at an activity centre in Chalfont, Buckinghamshire, in July 1997. Adil got into difficulty whilst using the pool and died due to drowning.
Hounslow Council, responsible for the pool, pleaded guilty to a breach of s.3(1) HSWA 1974 and was fined £25,000. No lifeguards had been provided to supervise the children’s use of the swimming pool.
