UK Beaches
An interactive map of the location and features of UK beaches as of January 2024.
- There are 664 sandy beaches in Great Britain.
- 277 beaches and 54 local authority districts had regular lifeguarded at key times of the year.
- Only 15 beaches had alternative lifeguard provision to the RNLI.
- In 2023, the RNLI responded to 14,213 incidents and saved 86 lives.
UK Diving Pools
An interactive map of the features of swimming pools with diving boards in the UK as of January 2024.
- 16 diving pools in the UK
- Two diving pools in Scotland, four in the North and Midlands of England, and eleven in the South of England.
- All the diving pools were located in public leisure centres.
- All the diving pools were owned by public authorities, with seven run by a connected trust and the rest by private operators.
UK Waterslides
An interactive map of the location and features of pools with waterslides in the UK as of January 2024.
- There are 153 waterslides in Great Britain.
- 19 pools with waterslides were in Scotland, 10 were in Wales, and the rest in England.
- 48% of districts in Great Britain have pools with waterslides.
- Waterslides were present at some leisure centres, health clubs, lidos, holiday parks, and community pools.
